Rug Cleaning in Longboat Key
Collection and delivery in Longboat Key are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Longboat Key is built from
A barrier island a little under eleven miles long, split between Sarasota and Manatee counties and incorporated as a town in 1955. Gulf-front mid-rise condominium buildings from the 1970s and 1980s along Gulf of Mexico Drive, villas and single-family houses on the bay side and around the Longboat Key Club, and a continuous programme of building renovations.
A large share of these units are let by the season rather than lived in year round. A January-to-April unit can pass through three or four separate households, none of whom own the furniture, and the rug on the floor is part of the inventory.
The Longboat Key problem
The rental calendar is what wears rugs here, and the mechanism is oil rather than dirt. Sunscreen, after-sun lotion and self-tanner transfer off skin onto pile every time somebody crosses a room barefoot, and unlike dry soil they do not sit on the fibre — they are absorbed into it. Fresh, they are invisible. Over a season they oxidise to a yellow-brown that reads as age or as a bad wash, and by then they have also turned that part of the rug into a magnet, because everything walked in afterwards binds to the oil instead of passing through. A vacuum removes none of it and a surface clean spreads it. The other half of the problem is that nobody in the chain owns the rug: a guest who spills says nothing, the changeover crew has a couple of hours to turn the whole unit, and the damage is found in April by a manager walking the property at the end of the season, months after it happened.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
